Just Knock
Terms of Use
Effective and last updated: August 27, 2026
These Terms of Use are additional terms for the Just Knock iPhone app and the website at justknock.app.
1. Agreement
By downloading, accessing, or using Just Knock, you agree to these Terms and Apple’s Standard EULA. If you cannot legally agree, you may use Just Knock only with the permission and supervision required by applicable law.
2. The service
Just Knock lets you define personal input Triggers and use them to record Moments and Activities on your iPhone. The app is intended as a personal productivity and self-recording tool. Features may change as the app is improved.
3. License and acceptable use
Your license to use Just Knock is governed by Apple’s Standard EULA. In addition, you agree not to:
- use the app or website unlawfully or to harm another person;
- interfere with, overload, probe, or attempt unauthorized access to the app, website, or related systems;
- circumvent purchase checks or access paid features without a valid entitlement; or
- misrepresent your relationship with Just Knock or Xiaochong Zhao.
4. Your data and backups
Your Rules, Triggers, Gestures, and records are stored locally on your device. You are responsible for your device, access controls, exports, and backups. Deleting data, removing the app, losing access to the device, or changing backup settings may result in permanent data loss. The developer does not operate a cloud copy of your records and generally cannot recover them.
5. Just Knock Pro
Just Knock Pro is offered as a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase, not a subscription. It unlocks the features described in the app for the Apple Account holding a valid entitlement.
- Prices and taxes are shown by the App Store and may vary by country or region.
- Purchases, payment, restoration, refunds, revocations, and billing support are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms and applicable law.
- Family Sharing is available only when supported and enabled by Apple, the product’s App Store configuration, the user’s family settings, and the applicable country or region.
- If an entitlement is refunded, revoked, or no longer verified, Pro features may become unavailable. Existing local records are not intentionally deleted solely because Pro access ends, although free-tier limits may apply.
6. Exports and third-party services
When you export data or share it through another app or service, your use of that destination is governed by its own terms and privacy practices. You are responsible for reviewing the export and choosing an appropriate recipient. The developer is not responsible for third-party services you select.
7. Not medical or emergency advice
Just Knock is not a medical device and does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, reminders guaranteed for critical use, or emergency services. Do not rely on it where a missed, delayed, or incorrect record or alert could cause injury or other serious harm.
8. Feedback
You may send feedback voluntarily. You grant the developer permission to use suggestions to maintain and improve Just Knock without an obligation to compensate you. Personal information included in feedback is handled under the Privacy Policy.
9. Availability and changes
The app and website may be updated, interrupted, discontinued, or unavailable at times. Compatibility can depend on your device, iOS version, App Store availability, and Apple services. No particular feature or level of availability is guaranteed indefinitely.
10. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law and in addition to the Standard EULA, Just Knock and the website are provided “as is” and “as available.” No warranty is made that they will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every purpose. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Xiaochong Zhao will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, opportunities, or goodwill arising from your use of or inability to use Just Knock. Liability that cannot legally be limited remains unaffected. Additional limitations and remedies in Apple’s Standard EULA also apply.
12. Governing terms
The governing-law and dispute provisions in Apple’s Standard EULA apply, together with any mandatory protections of the law where you live. If any provision of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
13. Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated to reflect changes to Just Knock or legal requirements. The current version will be posted here with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use after an update means the updated Terms apply to the extent permitted by law.
