Glossary
- Activity: a Rule type that records a period from start to end. See Track an Activity.
- Disabled: a Rule is stored but unavailable for recording, or a Gesture is unavailable for recognition. See Manage Rules and Gestures.
- Enabled: a Rule can be used to record, or a Gesture is available for recognition. Enabled does not mean an Activity is currently in progress.
- Gesture: a shared single-stroke drawing or built-in multi-finger movement. See Choose a Gesture.
- In progress: an Activity has started and has not yet ended.
- Knock: a saved rhythm of Tap and Hold events. See Record a Knock.
- Live Activities: system cards that display an in-progress Activity on the Lock Screen and, where supported, Dynamic Island. See Show an Activity on the Lock Screen.
- Moment: a Rule type that records an occurrence. See Record a Moment.
- Recent Input: the review of recognized inputs and Rule matches. See Inspect Recent Input.
- Rule: what you choose to record, including its name, type, and optional Triggers.
- Step: one ordered part of a multi-step Trigger. See Build an Ordered Combination.
- Trigger: the input assigned to a Rule for recording, starting, or ending. See Choose a Trigger Type.
