Record a Moment
Use a Moment when you want to mark an occurrence, rather than measure how long it lasted.
On This Page
Create a Moment Rule
- Open Rules from the main canvas, then tap the New Rule plus button.
- Choose Moment.
- Enter a Rule name, such as Drink Water.
- Open Trigger to assign a Knock, Gesture, or combination. You can leave it as No trigger if you want to use the Record button.
- If you added a Trigger, tap Save Trigger in the editor to return to the Rule form.
- Tap Create Rule.
The Rule appears in Rules. Creating the Rule defines what to record; it does not record a Moment yet.
Note: Free includes up to three enabled Rules. If that limit is reached, Save as Disabled saves your setup without enabling it. A disabled Rule must be enabled before you can use it to record.
Record with a Trigger or Button
To use a Trigger, close Rules and return to the main canvas. Perform the complete input you assigned. A successful Moment shows Recorded when Recognized Text is on.
To record manually, open Rules and tap Record beside the enabled Rule. This works even if the Rule has no Trigger.
Each successful use records another Moment. To check the result, open Data, choose Today, and look for the Rule in List or Times.
Common Questions
I passed Practice. Why is the count still zero?
Practice checks your Trigger without changing your data. Return to the main canvas and perform the Trigger, or use Record in Rules. See No Record Appeared.
Why is there no Record button beside my Rule?
Check whether the Rule is Disabled. Enable it from the Rule detail page or by swiping left on its row and choosing Enable Rule. If you have reached the free limit, disable another Rule or use Just Knock Pro.
Can I undo or correct an accidental Moment?
The current version does not provide per-record editing, deletion, or undo in Data. Deleting the Rule does not erase its records. Use Practice when you want to test without recording.
